Unimog U 5023 as a 3000 tank fire truck
Thanks to its high ground clearance of over half a meter, large approaching and ramp angles and a wading capacity of up to 1.2 meters, the Unimog U 5023 is ideally suited as a basic vehicle for flood and disaster operations as well as for demanding vegetation firefighting. The torsion-resistant chassis with tubular axles, which enables diagonal axle articulation of up to 30 degrees, as well as the high stability of the superstructure with a permissible total weight of 14.5 tons, ensure that the crew, material and heavy equipment can reach even remote locations safely and quickly if necessary. The integrated tire pressure regulation system enables the tire pressure to be adjusted quickly, even while driving, and ensures maximum traction on changing surfaces. For reliable use by fire departments, the Unimog also comes with a heat protection package for all operationally relevant lines ex works.
The tank fire truck shown here is based on the Unimog U 5023 and is equipped with a Schlingmann superstructure. The superstructure frame is welded from special stainless-steel profiles to ensure stability and prevent corrosion. The attachment of the superstructure to the chassis with a double three-point mounting allows high torsion resistance in difficult terrain.

Atego as a multifunctional fire-fighting vehicle
The multifunctional fire-fighting vehicle (Hilfeleistungslöschgruppenfahrzeug, HLF 10) based on the Mercedes-Benz Atego is a versatile emergency vehicle for municipal fire departments that is equipped for both firefighting and technical assistance. It complies with the DIN 14502 and DIN 14530-26 standards and was built with a superstructure from Rosenbauer. It is a multifunctional emergency vehicle for municipal fire departments, designed for firefighting and technical assistance.
With 220 kW (299 hp), all-wheel drive and off-road reduction, the off-road capable Mercedes-Benz Atego usually gets to its destination quickly, even off paved roads. The selectable longitudinal lock can be used to synchronize the front and rear axles, while the selectable locking differentials on both axles can prevent individual wheels from spinning if necessary.
The spacious crew cab offers space for a full crew of nine people (8+1, eight crew members and one driver). The AT (Advanced Technology) superstructure from Rosenbauer is designed for municipal deployment requirements. With the storage space concept and high payload reserves, this concept enables the transportation of extensive equipment for various operational situations. At the rear, the body is characterized by a short overhang of just under two meters. The ambient lighting enables safe operating conditions even in the dark.
