Monterey Peninsula College Awarded American Water Charitable Foundation STEM Education Grant

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) was awarded a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) Education grant. MPC will use the funds to provide a series of hands-on STEM work-based learning projects involving over 75 students and includes an engineering project competition with other local colleges.

Monterey Peninsula College, part of California’s public community college system, is an open-access institution committed to fostering student learning and success by providing excellence in instructional programs, facilities, and services to support the goals of students pursuing transfer, career, basic skills, and lifelong learning opportunities. The STEM Education grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. This opportunity provides STEM-focused curricular and extracurricular programs for underserved students.
