New ASEAN Energy Adds Neil Bush and Stephen Trauber as Independent Directors
Appointments bolster existing Board experience and expertise in energy investment, M&A and business development in Asia
HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–New ASEAN Energy, Inc. (NAE), a Houston based corporation focused on the management and operations of low-carbon petrochemical plants in the ASEAN region, today announced the appointment of Neil Bush and Stephen Trauber as Independent Directors, adding significant energy sector and APAC investment experience to its Board. Mr. Bush and Mr. Trauber will contribute meaningfully to NAE’s core strategy of acquisition of equity interest in a petrochemical complex in Southeast Asia, one of the fastest growing regions in the world.

Messrs Bush and Trauber are augmenting the NAE board which unfortunately had seen the recent passing of Governor Bill Richardson from its designated Board membership.
Mr. Bush joins NAE with 25-years of experience as a business development leader in Asia and the Middle East, having served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Neil Bush Global Advisers. Currently, he is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Atlas Renewables, focusing on deploying a gravity-based power storage technology in China. Additionally, Mr. Bush is Co-Founder and Chairman of Asia & America Consultants, which directs investment capital into U.S. projects and performs cross border services.
Mr. Bush’s career includes extensive non-profit leadership experience. He is the Founder and Chairman of the George H.W. Bush Foundation of U.S.-China Relations and the Co-Chair of the Barbara Bush Celebration of Reading and Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. Mr. Bush graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Mr. Trauber comes to NAE with more than three decades of investment banking experience in the energy sector, with a keen focus on energy transition, executing over $700 billion of transactions across debt and equity capital markets, strategic advisories, and mergers & acquisitions. He most recently served as Vice Chairman and Global Head of Natural Resources and Clean Energy Transition for Citi Bank. Mr. Trauber previously held executive energy investment positions as Vice Chairman & Global Head of Energy for UBS, and as Managing Director and Head of Energy for Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Trauber has extensive Board experience, currently serving on the Board of Directors and Audit Chair of Nabors Energy Transition Corp II (NASDAQ: NETDU), the Advisory Boards of NXT Renewables and Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions, and as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Managerial Studies & Economics Restructuring from Rice University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Northwestern University.
