New electricity tariffs from TotalEnergies in France

TotalEnergies is changing its electricity sales tariffs to residential customers, to enable them to save more by reducing and shifting their consumption. This development is available in two new devices:

1. The Conso Bonus rewards customers who reduce their consumption

TotalEnergies is launching the Conso Bonus to reward its individual customers, with more than a year’s service, who will reduce their electricity consumption by at least 5% this winter compared to last winter 1 . This bonus takes over from the discounts previously applied to offers indexed to the regulated sales price (TRV). Between €30 and €120 for an effective drop in consumption of -5% to -20%, the bonus will be awarded in the spring.

The 5% reduction is easily achievable by following a few effective eco-gestures, such as those suggested in the TotalEnergies mobile application for controlling electricity consumption: lowering the heating by one degree or unplugging household appliances on standby, which represents 7% and 5% savings respectively.

Thanks to this bonus, a household which usually consumes 5,000 kWh per year for an amount of approximately €950 and which reduces its electricity consumption by 10% during the coming winter will save €115: €55 thanks to the direct reduction in its consumption and €60 thanks to the Conso Bonus from TotalEnergies.

Customers less than one year old and therefore not eligible for the Conso Bonus will benefit from a loyalty bonus of €20 or €30 in April 2023 depending on their contract (base or peak/off-peak hours).

2. A new offer, Eco Hours, allows customers to reduce their bill thanks to cheaper off-peak hours

During the eight off-peak hours of the day, the new Heures Eco 2   offer offers an electricity price lower by €11.70 excluding tax per megawatt hour (MWh) than the TRV (ie -10.2%). Conversely, during peak hours, the tariff is increased by €7.90 excluding VAT/MWh compared to the TRV (i.e. +5.4%). Our customers, current or new, who subscribe to this Eco Hour offer will receive a bonus of €30 after six months.

These customers will thus be able to make even more savings by favoring off-peak hours for their electrical uses such as, for example, the operation of the water heater, the dishwasher and the washing machine, or even the recharging of the computer, smartphone or electric vehicle.

In addition, as part of its participation in the “EcoWatt” system set up by RTE, TotalEnergies is renewing its #TousAuCourant information program allowing it to warn all of its customers, by SMS or e-mail, of the arrival of strong tensions on the network and, thus, to encourage them to reduce their electricity consumption thanks to the eco-gestures recalled on this occasion.
