NuScale Announces Clayton Scott as Executive Vice President of Business Development
Clayton Scott joins NuScale Power, LLC as Executive Vice President of Business Development as NuScale moves towards commercialization
PORTLAND, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today, NuScale Power announced the expansion of its leadership team to include Clayton Scott who has joined the company as Executive Vice President of Business Development. The appointment of Scott represents an expansion of executive leadership within the sales and business development functions. This is in furtherance to NuScale’s efforts to capitalize on the significant small modular reactor (SMR) market and growing customer interest in NuScale’s VOYGRTM line of SMRs.
Scott will be leading the commercial global business development activities, including the sales, and marketing and communications functions for all NuScale products and services in the U.S. and abroad. Scott joins NuScale with an extensive business development background and more than 40 years of professional experience in the nuclear sector including managing utility contracts globally; construction management; vast expertise in licensing and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, engineering design, and startup and operation of nuclear power plants. Throughout his years of global experience, he has demonstrated the ability to open markets, raise brand awareness and close deals.

Prior to joining NuScale, Scott was a Senior Vice President – Global Sales, Deputy Director, Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Business at Framatome. He managed a worldwide staff of over 2,000 with offices in North America, Europe/MENA, and Asia, including all business development, sales, proposal generation, contracts, project management, and delivery for domestic and international nuclear clients for both greenfield and retrofit market segments.
Scott is also an active member of various industry committees, including an appointment to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to chair a taskforce on harmonizing digital licensing issues globally and the University of Tennessee Advisory Board.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and a Leading with Finance certification from Harvard Business School.
