PetroChina North China Petrochemical obtains National Clean Hydrogen Certification
London, March 23, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) ––On March 6, PetroChina North China Petrochemical Company passed the final evaluation of the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Vehicle Demonstration Platform and obtained the certification for 490.885 tons of clean hydrogen.
The certification was conducted in accordance with the “Standards and Assessment for Low-carbon Hydrogen, Clean Hydrogen and Renewable Hydrogen Energy”. Led by the China Hydrogen Alliance, it is the world’s first quantitative standard for carbon emissions of hydrogen energy issued by the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association. With life cycle assessment (LCA), this standard aims to regulate carbon emission standards for hydrogen production and promote the green transformation of the hydrogen industry chain.
This certification not only provides strong support for hydrogen sales companies to expand their market, but also lays a solid foundation for CNPC to tap into the hydrogen energy market in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and build a regional hydrogen supply center.
