PORTLAND, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Powin, a U.S.-based global energy storage integrator, is proud to have been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025. This year’s list shines a spotlight on businesses that are shaping industry and culture through their innovations to set new standards and achieve remarkable milestones in all sectors of the economy. Alongside the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, Fast Company recognizes 609 organizations across 58 sectors and regions.
“Being recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence in energy storage—but we wouldn’t be here without the partnership of our customers,” said Jeff Waters, Chief Executive Officer of Powin. “Our mission is to be the most trusted energy storage provider in the world, delivering safe, reliable, and high-performing solutions that drive a cleaner, more resilient energy future. This award reaffirms our commitment to partnering with customers to execute, deliver, and scale the energy transition to build a cleaner, more resilient grid.”
The news comes on the heels of significant achievements for the energy storage leader over the past 18 months. In May of 2024, the company launched its new Powin Pod, an advanced 20-foot liquid-cooled battery system designed for maximum efficiency and reliability, and has successfully deployed nearly 9 GWh of battery storage worldwide, with an additional 7 GWh set for deployment in 2025.
Powin’s technology has been instrumental in some of the most ambitious clean energy projects globally, including the deployment of one of the most powerful batteries in the world to support grid reliability and renewable integration near Sydney, Australia. Additionally, Powin is developing one of the largest solar-plus-storage microgrids, ensuring stable power for a critical industrial hub. The company’s energy storage solutions also played a pivotal role in delivering uninterrupted power for the 2024 Super Bowl, showcasing the growing role of batteries in stabilizing the grid during high-demand events. Throughout the night of the Super Bowl, the system unleashed 166 MWh of energy, enough to power nearly 35,000 homes for four hours.
As Powin continues to expand its impact, its commitment to innovation, scalability, and energy resilience remains stronger than ever. With a robust project pipeline and a focus on delivering world-class energy storage solutions, Powin is shaping the future of the global power sector.
