SCS Technologies Launches New Pre-Engineered Vapor Recovery Units at Methane Mitigation Summit to Enhance EPA Quad O Compliance

At the Methane Mitigation Summit, SCS to Demonstrate New VRU Solutions, CEO Cody Johnson to Speak on Cost-Effective Mitigation Solutions

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CleanEnergy–Today, at the Methane Mitigation Technology & Innovation Summit, SCS Technologies (SCS), a leading provider of CO2 measurement systems, methane vapor recovery units and petroleum LACT units, launched a new line of pre-engineered vapor recovery units (VRUs), which are configurable to meet unique customer needs at a cost-efficient price.

SCS Technologies is an event sponsor and will demonstrate the new VRU line in booth #32. Cody Johnson, CEO of SCS Technologies, will also be a featured speaker at the summit during the “Cost-Effective Solutions for Mitigation” session at 1:50 p.m. on June 12, 2024.

“The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Quad O standard aims to aggressively reduce methane emissions and other air pollutants from oil and natural gas production. Time is running out for the oil and gas industry to devise and execute methane mitigation compliance plans to avoid costly penalties,” said Johnson. “To help customers meet this rapidly approaching EPA deadline, we’ve developed our newest pre-engineered VRUs to help producers quickly acquire and configure units with required components at a significantly lower cost than fully custom options. I look forward to sharing our mitigation best practices, developed over a decade, with those now responsible for fugitive gas recovery and EPA compliance.”

While the EPA’s Quad O regulation initially focused on monitoring and reducing methane emissions from new oil and natural gas sources, it now includes requirements for constructed, modified, or reconstructed sources and stringent standards for existing sources. This update impacts over one million existing oil and natural gas wells, 2,000 gas compressor stations, and more than 500 natural gas processing plants.

SCS Technologies New Pre-Engineered VRUs help oil and gas companies comply with Quad O and include the following benefits:

  • Pre-engineered Equipment Sized for Optimal Performance: An enhanced range of features compared to a Standard VRU.
  • Custom VRU Unit with Short Lead Time: Quickly receive tailored solutions to meet specific needs.
  • Avoid Early Upsizing: Avoid the cost and inconvenience by choosing equipment that is appropriately sized from the start.
  • New Design for Easy Access to Core Components: Simplifies maintenance, reduces downtime, and increases safety.
  • Warranty-Backed Craftsmanship: Ensure reliability and quality assurance with our industry-leading warranty protection.

The SCS Technologies pre-engineered VRUs are available today. For more information, visit our website at https://www.scstechglobal.com/vru.
