Spearmint Energy Names Michael Weinstein Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Relations

Seasoned Investor Relations Professional Brings Significant Alternative Energy, Power Markets, and Utilities Expertise to Spearmint

Builds on the Expansion of Spearmint’s Team Across Functions and Geographies

MIAMI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Spearmint Energy (“Spearmint” or the “Company”), a next-generation clean energy company bringing reliable, low-cost energy to the power grid through battery energy storage, today announced that Michael Weinstein, ERP, former Head of Investor Relations for solar developer SunPower Corporation, has joined the Company as Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Relations, effective immediately. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for deepening and expanding Spearmint’s relationships with existing and prospective investors and supporting capital raising efforts across the business.


Mr. Weinstein brings 25 years of banking, fund management and investor relations experience to Spearmint as well as deep origination, portfolio management, trading, and equity research expertise across the energy sector. Prior to SunPower Corporation, he led the equity research team for Utilities and Alternative Energy at Credit Suisse, earning a runner-up ranking in the 2019 and 2020 Institutional Investor All-America Alternative Energy team poll. He has previously served as a portfolio manager at UBS O’Connor, a senior energy analyst at Zimmer Lucas Partners, a tolling contract originator at Allegheny Energy, and an equities analyst at Goldman Sachs. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Mr. Weinstein served in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Storm. He earned a B.S. in Physics from the United States Naval Academy and a M.A. in National Security Policy from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.

Mr. Weinstein joins Spearmint as the Company continues to expand its team across functions and geographies. Spearmint currently employs more than 60 professionals, up from 31 professionals as of year-end 2023.
