Zhenjiang Power Supply Company Achieves Autonomous Fault Diagnosis for Distribution Network Disconnection and Phase Loss

ZHENJIANG, China–(BUSINESS WIRE)–At 10:16 on January 17, State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company successfully resolved a phase loss fault between Poles 17 and 18 on the 10 kV Antou 292 line of the 110 kV Baitu Substation, utilizing its self-developed “Autonomous Fault Diagnosis System for Distribution Network Disconnection and Phase Loss.” From fault detection and location to successful resolution, the entire process took only 40 minutes to restore normal power supply to 26 transformer areas affected by the fault.

Previously, when distribution network faults occurred, dispatch operators had to notify line operation and maintenance personnel, who would then have to open multiple systems and go through complicated queries to initially determine the fault scope before notifying repair personnel to identify the fault location on-site. This process was time-consuming and labor-intensive. At night, it was particularly difficult to detect concealed faults, posing a risk of grounding faults and potential electrical hazards for passersby.

Now, with the implementation of the “Autonomous Fault Diagnosis System for Distribution Network Disconnection and Phase Loss,” fault location can be achieved within 5 minutes. The system automatically screens abnormal transformer areas by setting the range of abnormal data fluctuations and automatically correlates them with corresponding pole numbers. Upon detecting a fault, the system automatically sends fault information to operation and maintenance personnel, allowing them to prepare repair materials in advance and restore power supply in the shortest possible time.

Currently, the “Autonomous Fault Diagnosis System for Distribution Network Disconnection and Phase Loss” has been deployed for fault diagnosis across 29 substations and 374 distribution network lines in Zhenjiang City, reducing the time required to locate disconnection faults from over 30 minutes to under 5 minutes, effectively ensuring a safer and more reliable power supply for residents.
