State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company Leads in Publishing China’s First National Standard for "Technical Guidelines for Emergency Supplies for Electrochemical Energy Storage Stations"

ZHENJIANG, China–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ElectrochemicalEnergyStorage–Recently, the Standardization Administration of China revealed that the national standard “Technical Guidelines for Emergency Supplies for Electrochemical Energy Storage Stations,” led by State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company, has been approved for publication and will officially take effect on May 1, 2025. This marks the first officially approved technical standard for emergency supplies for electrochemical energy storage stations in China.

In recent years, with the rapid development of electrochemical energy storage stations, the management of emergency supplies for these stations has become a top priority for station safety management. The diversity of emergency supply types and the scientific nature of storage directly impact the speed and efficiency of emergency response at energy storage stations. To address these challenges, State Grid Zhenjiang Power Supply Company established a working group for the “Technical Guidelines for Emergency Supplies for Electrochemical Energy Storage Stations.” The group conducted field research in Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Tianjin, and other regions, focusing on emergency supplies for battery firefighting, switchgear accident responses, and natural disaster responses (such as earthquakes and floods) at energy storage stations. By identifying hidden risks in on-site emergency supply management practices, the group accelerated the formulation of technical guidelines for emergency supplies.

The standard formulation project was initiated this January, completed in July, and officially approved for publication in November, achieving a new milestone of initiating, formulating, submitting for approval, and publishing within a single year. The full document, highly practical and instructional, consists of nine chapters, stipulating the full-process management of emergency supplies for electrochemical energy storage stations, including allocation, application, maintenance, storage, and disposal. It clarifies the use of firefighting emergency supplies for different batteries, the storage locations of emergency supplies at energy storage stations in various locations, and the operational procedures for emergency supplies at energy storage stations with different duty systems.
