Stellantis Keeps Growing in European Total and Electrified Markets

London, June 10, 2024 , (Oilandgaspress) –Stellantis achieved a 1.8% increase in volumes (PC+CV) in the EU29 perimeter in the first five months of 2024, reaching an 18.5% market share, up 0.2 points from FY23. The company leads in France, Italy, and Portugal year-to-date and in Spain for May, with a 7.2% sales rise. Notable ytd sales growth includes 3% in France, 3.4% in the UK, 0.3% in Spain, 11.2% in Portugal, and nearly 22% in Germany, where its market share rose to 13.6%. Double-digit sales growth in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland and Slovenia.

In its core markets, Stellantis is gaining additional traction. In France, it held a 31% market share with four models in the top 10 (Peugeot 208, 308, 2008, and Citroën C3). In Italy, Stellantis achieved a 33.4% market share with five models in the top ten in May, led by Fiat Panda, Citroën C3, and Lancia Ypsilon, with Jeep Avenger and Opel Corsa also performing well. In Germany, Peugeot’s sales rose over 60%, Opel’s by 33%, and DS Automobiles and Citroën saw increases of 28.8% and 14%, respectively.

Stellantis Pro One Commercial Vehicles business unit keeps its market leadership on an ytd basis with a share of over 29% and 7% year-over-year volume increase. This performance extends across Europe, with Germany under the spotlight, thanks to a remarkable + 3.4 p.p. market share increase, sustained by a sales growth over 35%.

Despite a slowing BEV market, Stellantis captured a 13.8% ytd share in EU29 and led several segments. In France, BEV volumes grew 56%, reaching a 37.9% market share, with Peugeot E-208 and Fiat 500e ranking #1 and #2. Poland achieved a 9.4% ytd market share, up 0.8 points compared to last year.

Stellantis Pre-Owned Vehicle entity is expanding its electric vehicle offerings to promote sustainable mobility. This effort has resulted in a 140% increase in low emission vehicles (LEV) volumes in several European countries compared to 2023, with Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, now making up over 20% of LEV sales.
