The 2024 Global Energy Transition Conference Kicks Off in Beijing’s Future Science City
BEIJING–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The 2024 Global Energy Transition Conference commenced on September 7 in Beijing’s Future Science City, Changping District. A premier event in the energy sector, this forum has been held for six consecutive years, gathering industry leaders to discuss the future of energy and green transformation.
This year’s theme, “Transformative Development and a Green Future,” was explored through an opening ceremony, main forum, nine thematic subforums, exhibitions, and various activities. During the main forum, experts delivered speeches on key topics, including energy security, green transitions, low-carbon technologies, and international cooperation.
The nine subforums focused on the green transformation of the energy sector. A highlight was the 2024 Energy Valley Construction Development Conference, hosted by the Changping District Government, where industry leaders discussed the high-quality development of the Energy Valley. The event attracted key figures from research institutes, universities, enterprises, and think tanks based in Future Science City.
Several significant reports were unveiled, including the 2024 Report on the Progress of China’s Energy Revolution, the Beijing Future Science City Energy Valley Industrial Development White Paper, and a collection of smart energy project samples. Additionally, the Beijing New-Type Energy Storage Demonstration Zone and the Beijing Future Science City Digital Power Innovation Center were inaugurated.
The event concluded with the opening of the Future Science City Energy Week, during which the Development Research Center of the State Council shared its annual research topics, and the Changping District Government announced 20 new application scenarios. These included photovoltaic generation, energy storage systems, supercharging stations, and hydrogen refueling stations.
Exhibitions at the conference showcased indoor and outdoor areas, featuring immersive designs to enhance interaction between companies, experts, and attendees.
Future Science City aims to become a global hub for energy technology innovation, leading Beijing’s efforts to establish an international science and technology innovation center. The Energy Valley will play a key role in advancing Beijing’s dual-carbon strategy and promoting sustainable development.
