The Fully electric waste collection Mercedes-Benz eActros 300

London, February 19, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––The battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros for heavy-duty distribution haulage has been rolling off the production line at the Wörth plant since 2021. The batteries of the eActros comprise either three (eActros 300) or four battery packs (eActros 400), each of which offers an installed capacity of 112 kWh[1]. With four battery packs, the eActros 400 has a range of up to 400 kilometers[2]. The technological core is the drive unit – an electric rigid axle with two integrated electric motors and a two-speed transmission. Both liquid-cooled motors generate a continuous output of 330 kW as well as a peak performance of 400 kW. In addition, when driving with foresight, electrical energy can be recovered through recuperation. The energy gained when braking is fed back into the batteries of the eActros and is then once more available for driving. This makes waste disposal, with its permanent stop & go traffic, one of the ideal areas of application for the heavy-duty fully electric series from Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

Saubermacher as official waste disposal partner of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025
Together with its local subsidiary Gassner Entsorgung and in close coordination with the Austrian Ski Association ÖSV, Saubermacher Dienstleistungs AG – Saubermacher for short – has established an extensive “Circular WM Concept”, which focuses on prevention in addition to traditional waste collection. This not only means avoiding waste by using reusable containers, for example. It also means reducing local CO2 emissions. On-site, this was accomplished by the deployment of two fully electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 waste collection vehicles with bodies from the Stummer company. Thanks to intelligent containers with level indicators and the resulting optimized route selection, the CO2 footprint of this event in Saalbach could be reduced even further.
