TotalEnergies Electricité and Gaz France propose measures in favor of VSEs

TotalEnergies entered the electricity market in 2017 with the ambition of becoming an integrated player from production to distribution. TotalEnergies Electricity and Gaz France thus sells electricity to 5.7 million sites and has a production fleet of 2.6 GW gas power plants in France and a renewable energy fleet of 1.5 GW covering only part of its sales and leading it to source its supplies on the wholesale market.

TotalEnergies Electricity and Gaz France had to take into account the cost of this supply, which reached record levels that could go beyond €1,000 per megawatt hour (MWh), in the offers offered between August and November 2022 to professional customers.

TotalEnergies also notes that the results of electricity production activities have been subject to new taxes ( taxation of infra-marginal rents ) under the latest finance law, which does not allow its integrated production and electricity distribution to reach financial equilibrium in 2022.

Aware of the major impact of electricity prices on the economic activity of VSEs and in the name of national solidarity, TotalEnergies Electricity and Gaz France want to mobilize to help them face the difficulties caused by this unprecedented energy crisis. .

Given the fall in electricity prices observed at the start of 2023, TotalEnergies Electricity and Gaz France will publish on Monday an update of its Horizon electricity tariff schedule which will take into account the recent drop in electricity prices. , at the rate of €320 excluding tax per megawatt hour (MWh).
