U. S. Architectural Introduces Tsunami 15 for High-Efficient Area and Roadway Lighting

New luminaire offers updated style and performance for beauty, power, versatility and efficiency

PALMDALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–U. S. Architectural, a leading American manufacturer of contemporary area and street lighting, introduces Tsunami 15, a low-profile luminaire with a stylized, cast aluminum day-form housing and featuring a PLED high value optical system with field replaceable and field rotatable optics for flexible long-term performance.

The Tsunami 15 is dark sky friendly with a BUG rating of U0. Its Ambience™ low luminance option is anchored by a precision cast, shallow aluminum door frame with a low luminance lens to reduce glare at lower mounting heights, where the bare LED brightness would otherwise be objectionable. The Ambience™ low luminance lens diffuses the PLED optics and provides a more uniform luminance across the aperture reducing glare at all angles while providing minimal loss with luminaire efficacies still exceeding 100 LPW.

The PLED system can be configured up to 256 watts to provide up to 30,000 lumens for 30-foot parking lot applications while the optional Ambience™ low luminance lens is perfect for pedestrian scale applications. The Tsunami 15 provides 10 photometric distributions plus house side shielding as well as the low luminance versions for the utmost in performance versatility.

Tsunami 15 is available with a variety of high-power white LEDs driven between 350mA and 1050mA. The LEDs are available in standard neutral white (4000K), cool white (5000K) and warm white (2700K and 3000K). All Standard LEDs have a minimum of 70 CRI. The luminaires true amber LED’s (TRA-True Amber) emit light in the amber spectral bandwidth centered on 585-590nm, which have negligible blue light and are suitable for wildlife.

For the ultimate in efficiency and long driver life, the low-profile luminaire has separate chambers for the driver box and the LED cast backplane to separate the thermal sources into heat islands.

Tsunami 15 uses constant current electronic LED drivers with power factors of >0.90 that delivers less than 10% THD and a minimum operating temperature of -40°F/-40°C. The drivers are UL and cUL listed accept an input of 120-277V, 50/60Hz or 347V-480V, 50/60Hz. A 0-10V dimmable driver is standard and has a minimum of 3KV internal surge protection.
