UL Solutions Earns Platinum Medal from EcoVadis for Sustainability Performance

Achieving the top EcoVadis rating reflects the safety science company’s commitment to corporate sustainability

NORTHBROOK, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–UL Solutions Inc. (NYSE: ULS), a global leader in applied safety science, today announced that it has achieved a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, a leader in business sustainability assessments, placing it in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis globally in the past 12 months.

UL Solutions improved its rating from Silver – bypassing Gold – to reach EcoVadis’ top Platinum rating this year. More than 150,000 companies have been rated by EcoVadis.

“We are thrilled to receive the EcoVadis Platinum Medal,” said Gitte Schjøtz, executive vice president and chief operations and sustainability officer, UL Solutions. “Our mission is working for a safer, more secure and more sustainable world, and this clearly indicates we are holding ourselves accountable for meaningful improvement in our own sustainability management and reporting.”

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The Platinum rating reflects the quality of UL Solutions’ sustainability management system and demonstrates a commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.

EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
