Gas Leak Sets Sea On Fire

Mexico’s state-owned oil company suffered a rupture in an undersea gas pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico last Friday, sending flames boiling to the surface in the Gulf waters.

The incident took place 400 meters (1,300 feet) away from an oil production platform and highlights the serious risks that the fossil fuel model in Mexico poses to people’s safety and environment, Greenpeace Mexico reportedly said in a statement.
