XCharge North America Debuts Virtual Point of Sale to Enhance EV Charging Experience

KYLE, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–XCharge North America (“XCharge NA”), a provider of high-power EV charging and battery-integrated solutions designed to strengthen the North American electrical grid, announced the roll out of its first Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) solution for XCharge systems. This new addition comes on the heels of the company’s recent GridLink launch, a new solution for EV charging and grid management designed exclusively for the North American grid, and reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering easy-to-use, streamlined EV charging solutions for customers.

XCharge NA’s integrated payment system, designed with seamlessness and security in mind, comes pre-installed and shipped with every new XCharge system. The product, available to existing customers via a secure and remote update (no plug-in needed), will manage payments through industry-trusted platform Stripe for a simple and convenient charging experience. In lockstep with consumers’ evolving payment preferences, VPOS, which does not require an app, offers payment via Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and standard card processing to promote convenience and flexibility. Unique to other EV charging systems on the market, XCharge NA’s VPOS utilizes a dynamic on-screen QR code for added security.

Additional features include:

  • On-screen QR Code that dynamically updates to prevent phishing and fraud.
  • Optional pin code to secure the charging session to prevent interruptions.
  • Real-time charging metrics, full data logging, and a register of transactions.
  • Remote monitoring and diagnostics, enabling full issue resolution with XCharge hardware without the need for physical intervention.
  • Vertical integration with XCharge hardware and aftersales teams to optimize functionality and support.

“At its core, XCharge NA was founded to make EV charging infrastructure more accessible for customers of all kinds—ranging from individual business owners to fleets—and provide products to help them stay on the cutting edge of technology,” said President and Co-founder of XCharge NA, Aatish Patel. “VPOS is not just a first-of-its-kind solution, it’s the result of what we can accomplish when we listen to our customers’ needs and deliver innovative solutions that meet market demand.”
