Xpeng Huitian’s “Land Aircraft Carrier” flying car makes its overseas debut

London, January 08, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––Xiaopeng Huitian brought its latest split flying car “Land Aircraft Carrier” to participate in the North American CES (International Consumer Electronics Show), which is known as the “Spring Festival Gala of the Technology Industry”. Wang Tan, co-founder and vice president of Xiaopeng Huitian, introduced at the press conference of the exhibition, “This CES exhibition is the overseas debut of the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’. We customized a new body color for it, and hope that global technology enthusiasts will like it. At present, the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’ has received more than 3,000 advance pre-orders and is scheduled to start delivery in 2026.”

Gu Hongdi, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng Motors, introduced the latest progress of the “Land Aircraft Carrier” in the past year at CES: In early 2024, the “Land Aircraft Carrier” flight body type certificate (TC) application was submitted and accepted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, which is a key step towards regulatory certification. In July, Xpeng Huitian received $150 million in B1 round financing, and in October started construction of the world’s first flying car factory using modern assembly lines for large-scale mass production. In early November, Xpeng Huitian’s “three-step” product strategy and high-speed, long-range, fully tilting eVTOL were first released to the public; in mid-November, the “Land Aircraft Carrier” completed its first public flight and manned flight at the China Air Show and the Guangzhou Auto Show, and won a large number of orders. Flying cars are becoming within reach from dreams.

The flying body of the “land aircraft carrier” adopts an innovative six-rotor double-duct configuration. The arms and blades are foldable. The main structure of the fuselage and the blades are made of carbon fiber material, which takes into account both high strength and light weight. The 270° panoramic cockpit provides users with a wide flight field of view and supports both manual and automatic driving modes. Xiaopeng Huitian pioneered a single-lever control system with minimal operation and easy to learn. In the automatic driving mode, one-button takeoff, automatic route planning and automatic flight can be achieved, and it has functions such as multi-dimensional environmental fusion perception and landing vision assistance. At the same time, the flying body adopts a full-domain redundant safety design. Key systems such as power, flight control, power supply, communication, and control have redundant backups. After the first system fails, the second system can be seamlessly connected, thereby maintaining safe flight and meeting the safety standards of civil aircraft.
