Xpeng Motors starts G6 pre-sale in the UK

London, February 17, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––Xpeng Motors’ globalization strategy has reached a milestone. Xpeng Motors held a launch event in the UK on the banks of the Thames, close to the famous landmark London Bridge, and announced that the Xpeng G6, Xpeng Motors’ first right-hand drive model, has officially started pre-sale in the UK. The pre-sale price of the new car starts at 39,990 pounds (about 364,000 yuan), and it is expected to start delivery in March 2025. This move marks Xpeng Motors’ official entry into the UK market, which not only demonstrates its brand strength, but also opens up broad space for future development.

As a key layout of Xiaopeng Motors’ globalization strategy, the UK market has dual strategic significance: the UK is not only one of the largest new energy vehicle markets in Europe, but also one of the most important right-hand drive car consumption areas in the world. In recent years, the British government has shown firm determination and strong potential in the development of new energy vehicles, committed to achieving zero emissions for all new cars by 2035, and actively laid out relevant policies and infrastructure construction for this purpose. In the past four years, the number of charging stations in the UK has increased year by year, which has greatly stimulated the development of the new energy vehicle market. Data shows that in 2024, the sales of new cars in the UK will be 1.953 million, of which the sales of pure electric vehicles will surge by 21.4% to 382,000, accounting for 19.6%; plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) will increase by 18.3%, accounting for 8.6%, and hybrid vehicles (HEV) will increase by 9.6%, accounting for 13.4%. British consumers are accelerating the transition to electrification and low-emission models.

“Our partnership with IML (International Motors Ltd.), a well-known European automotive dealer group, is an important milestone in Xpeng’s expansion in Europe and around the world,” said Gu Hongdi, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng Motors. “We are excited to bring smarter and more environmentally friendly travel to the UK market and the world. With Xpeng’s cutting-edge technology, from futuristic design, excellent range to ultra-fast charging technology, we believe Xpeng will resonate with British consumers.”
