(Oilandgaspress) Audi has received two MotorTrend Best Tech 2026 awards for its innovative MMI® infotainment system and augmented reality (AR) technologies, and a 2026 MotorTrend Software-Defined Vehicle Innovator Award for AUDI AG systems development engineer Marcus Richter for his work on the AR development team. Audi is the only automaker to receive two of the Best Tech 2026 awards, which according to MotorTrend, “recognize the technologies, features, and services that radically improve driving, car ownership, and moving about the world.”

The MotorTrend Best Tech 2026 awards criteria focus on innovation, user experience, usefulness, safety and privacy, and value. The Best Tech 2026 award for Infotainment went to the latest version of the MMI® infotainment system from Audi – featuring a three-screen, dashboard-spanning Digital Stage – available across the newest Audi PPC (2025 Q5/A5/A6 TFSI lineups) and PPE (2025 Q6 e-tron/A6 e-tron) platforms.
