Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi meet Libyan Government Officals

Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, and Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi, met in Tripoli today, at the presence of NOC Chairman, Mustafa Sanalla, to discuss Eni’s strategy in the Country through boosting investments and supporting the Libyan health sector and the access to energy (renewables, gas for the domestic market and electricity generation).


Claudio Descalzi confirmed to the Prime Minister Eni’s full commitment regarding operational activities and projects in the Country, focusing on natural gas in order to satisfy the increasing Country energy needs. The company is working on the new relevant offshore development projects like Structures A&E, Bouri Gas Utilization, Sabratha Compression and Hamada, while maximizing the gas production of the Libya by developing further opportunities.


The CEO of Eni, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of NOC also discussed projects in the renewable energy sector, which can satisfy the needs of minor hydrocarbon consumption and CO2 emissions reduction as well improve the access to electricity for remote communities. To such extent Eni is defining the technical specifications for a photovoltaic plant with battery storage to be installed in remote areas of the Country.

The Prime Minister finally thanked Eni for its support on social initiatives especially in the health sector.
