London, 25 May, 2023, (Oilandgaspress) : Kenya’s national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) becomes the first African airline to use SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) provided by Eni for a long-haul flight. KQ will be participating in the second edition of the Sustainable Flight Challenge (TSFC), an initiative of SkyTeam. The initiative is a friendly competition between SkyTeam member airlines. The Boeing 787-800 (B787-8) Dreamliner, that took off today from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol, is the first Kenya Airways flight powered also by Eni Sustainable Mobility’s sustainable aviation fuel.

For this flight, JetA1 fuel is mixed with Eni Biojet, produced in the Eni’s Livorno refinery by distilling the bio-components produced from the Gela biorefinery. Eni Sustainable Mobility and Kenya Airways are working on a broader agreement for long-term collaboration. Read More


Vestas has received an order for a project in Argentina that includes supply of 16 V150-4.5 MW turbines as well as a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. Deliveries and commissioning are planned for 2024. Customer and project names are undisclosed at the customer’s request. Vestas pioneered Argentina’s wind energy market with the installation of the country’s first commercial wind turbine in Comodoro Rivadavia in 1994. Read More

Inmarsat announced that a transformative new range of service plans for its Jet ConneX inflight broadband solution will be supported by Satcom Direct’s Plane Simple ®Ka-band terminal. Building on the long-standing commercial relationship with Inmarsat, SD will act as both a distribution partner for the airtime and developer of the advanced tail-mount terminal. The terminal will be compatible with brand new Jet ConneX service plans that were launched yesterday as part of Inmarsat’s JX Evolution programme. Available to order now, the new plans include high-end packages that exclusively use next-generation Jet ConneX terminals, such as SD’s Plane Simple Ka-band antenna system, and deliver the fastest-ever speeds by the service. These will enable passengers to simultaneously connect more devices and enjoy unchallenged access to the most data-hungry applications, including high-definition video conferencing, without compromising on the service’s proven characteristics of consistency, reliability, resilience, and seamless global availability. Saab has received an order for sight- and fire control capability from BAE Systems Hägglunds. The order value is approximately SEK 900 million and deliveries are scheduled 2023-2029. Saab will provide the capability for the BAE Systems’ CV90 combat vehicles ordered by the Slovak Republic in late 2022 and will carry out the work in Sweden and the Slovak Republic. “We look forward to continuing to deliver our proven sight- and fire control capability for BAE Systems’ CV90, providing the user with precise targeting capability regardless of the vehicle’s movements says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s business area Surveillance. The Savile Row Concours celebrates the heritage and history of the prestigious London address, and its relationship with the automotive world. Every Huntsman Edition car comes with a bespoke Huntsman jacket for the owner; created in one of Huntsman’s exclusive house cloths. The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase and Continental GTC Huntsman Edition features bespoke interiors inspired by the sartorial heritage of the renowned Savile Row tailoring house. Huntsman Head Cutter and Creative Director, Campbell Carey worked closely with Jack Barclay and the team at Mulliner to carefully translate Huntsman’s 174 years of bespoke heritage into a design complementing the interior of each of the cars. These models have been furnished with unique Huntsman tailoring. Signature cloth design features throughout both vehicles, with upholstery in the Huntsman charcoal four point star design, is contrasted with honeycomb cross stitching. The iconic Huntsman logo and the signature ‘H’ motif can be found embroidered in the headrests, and embossed on the treadplates, with even the keybox receiving a custom treatment; inlaid with tweed and stamped with the Huntsman logo. Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced that pricing for the 2024 Atlas will start at $37,725 MSRP and the 2024 Atlas Cross Sport at $36,715. The refreshed Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport feature an elegant new interior and a refined turbocharged engine that improves both performance and driving experience.

The Atlas will offer six trim levels, including two Peak Edition trims, while Atlas Cross Sport will offer five trim levels. For 2024, the Atlas family will be powered solely by a four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injection TSI® engine with 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The new engine provides similar power to the outgoing VR6, a bump in torque—which is available over a broader rev range, improving drivability and acceleration—and is anticipated to provide improved fuel economy. EPA-estimated fuel economy is not yet available and will be released at a later time. British Gas is continuing to support great British businesses with a £15 million fund which provides grants to small businesses including pubs, cafes, restaurants, hairdressers, shopkeepers, and charities that are crucial to our high streets and communities and need help with energy costs. The company has already given £7 million in support spread across over 4,000 business customers with average grants of £1,700. The majority (74%) of grants have gone towards high street support such as sole traders in retail, bars, restaurants, and community services. In addition to grants, British Gas will be helping some businesses with the opportunity to extend their existing contract term by 12 months in order to significantly lower their current rates. These “blend and extend” contracts would give businesses who are on higher rates the option of spreading costs over a longer period. Read More


Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) this week signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a strategic partnership with the Israel Innovation Authority at EcoMotion Week 2023 in Tel Aviv. At the 11th annual event, Heung-soo Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Global Strategy Office (GSO), delivered a keynote speech on ‘Hyundai Innovation in Israel.’ The MoU, signed by EVP Kim and Dr. Amiram Appelbaum, Chairman of Israel Innovation Authority, will enable the partners to jointly discover innovative Israeli startups that can collaborate with the Group through a startup competition and share project costs for initial technology validation.
