Neste to introduce dedicated electric charging service
Neste will introduce its first dedicated charging service for logistics companies in the Finnish market in February 2022. Neste ran a service pilot in 2021 together with Finland’s leading moving and logistics company Niemi Services Ltd. The pilot was a success, and the Neste Charging service will be widely available for the transport industry to support companies in achieving their ambitious climate goals.
By using the Neste Charging service to charge their electric vehicles, logistics companies can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 85%* on average. This figure is based on a five-year average of the electricity used in Finland’s national grid as well as European regulations.
The Neste Charging service enables logistics companies to charge their fleet, as well as the vehicles of their subcontractors, at their own depot, minimizing the need to drive elsewhere for the purpose of charging. The service includes smart charging solutions as a complete package and allows charging with the Neste mobile app or an RFID tag. Monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and emissions reductions is possible with the Neste emissions reporting service, introduced to the Finnish market in August 2021.
Charging solution for workplaces – pilots start in Porvoo and Espoo in Finland
Neste is currently planning its own dedicated electric charging solution for workplaces. The aim is to begin pilots at Neste’s Porvoo refinery and the company’s head office in Espoo, Finland during 2022.
