(Oilandgaspress) -Renault is confirming its move upmarket on the C and D segments with top-spec versions making up the majority of sales. With European flagship Rafale, for example, the Esprit Alpine and Atelier Alpine finishes account for 85% of sales.
In 2025, Austral, Espace and Rafale were active in driving brand sales worldwide on the C/D segments (+7.9% with 444,000 units sold, of which 158,000 in France). These results confirmed Renault as leader of the full hybrid market in France, a position held since 2023.
In 2026, Austral, Espace and Rafale are gaining technology upgrades and new equipment to further enhance in-car comfort and connectivity:
New-generation “Qi2” wireless phone charger,
New connectivity package with more data and exclusive applications,
Advanced driver monitoring system able to detect any signs of driver fatigue,
“Smart” mode, to adapt instantly to changes in driving style.
Austral and Espace are also now available in an all-new body colour “Slate Blue satin”. At the same time, Rafale gains a new upholstery option in black coated textile with a grained finish.
All these new features are now available to order in France.
