14 Apr Renault Twingo E-Tech electric
(Oilandgaspress) -–From 8 to 13 April, Twingo E-Tech electric became the canvas for a live artistic performance. Over three days, Joshua Vides worked on the vehicle at the Renault Carwal, offering the public an opportunity to attend two dedicated sessions. Before the visitors’ eyes, the artist transformed the car, gradually turning an industrial object into an immersive artwork. This real-time creative process brings together contemporary art, automotive design and popular culture.
A signature style between reality and a sketch
Contemporary artist and designer, Joshua Vides is recognised for his monochrome aesthetic, inspired by drawings, comic strips and cartoons. Through his visual language with its clearly defined contours, he takes real-world objects and turns them into sketch-like illusions that appear to have stepped out of a 2D world to enter our three-dimensional reality. Through painting, sculptures, installations or cars, his work explores the boundaries between art and objects, between reality and idea, in a style that is instantly recognisable.
A work on display until 9 June at the Renault Carwalk
Officially completed on 13 April, the Twingo model revisited by Joshua Vides is now on display at the Renault Carwalk until 9 June, as part of the Pop Art Car exhibition. This work will then join the Renault Fund art car collection, set up several years ago to explore the dialogue between the car contemporary art and design. Through this collaboration, Renault is continuing to explore the car as a work of art and a medium for contemporary expression.
