(Oilandgaspress) XPeng Motors signed an agreement with Malaysia’s EPMB Group to officially launch its localized production project in Malaysia. This is XPeng’s third localized production project globally, following Indonesia and Austria. The project is scheduled to achieve mass production in 2026, aiming to create a strategic hub serving the entire ASEAN right-hand drive vehicle market.

Malaysia is an emerging growth market for XPeng Motors’ overseas business. In September this year, the XPeng X9 successfully won the sales champion of high-end electric MPVs in Malaysia; from January to October, XPeng Motors’ cumulative sales of pure electric vehicles in the country ranked among the top six, surpassing many other car brands, demonstrating XPeng Motors’ strong competitiveness in the local market.

With the launch of its localized production project in Malaysia, XPeng Motors has taken a solid step forward in its strategic layout in ASEAN.
