UK Energy suppliers Avro Energy, and Green cease trading

800,000+ customers affected as Avro and Green go burst.
Avro Energy, the biggest supplier to exit the market so far, with 580,000 customers, while Green Supplier Limited has 250,000.

The sharp rise in wholesale gas prices has caused smaller energy firms in the UK to complain they are unable to pass costs on to customers because of a price cap on energy bills.

This has led to the collapse of small companies such as People’s Energy, Utility Point, PfP Energy and MoneyPlus Energy over the past week.

British Gas has taken on 441,000 new customers and EDF Energy has gained 220,000 extra customers from failed suppliers.
